How B2B Companies Can Use Pinterest

B2B companies using social media have to keep up with platforms that are constantly evolving and decide how that effects their company’s goals and objectives.  However, a new platform has risen that provides great opportunities for B2B companies:  Pinterest.

This platform is about graphically sharing content mainly images.  For B2B companies, understanding and using Pinterest can be challenging but also fruitful if mastered.  So how are B2B companies currently using Pinterest?  A few ways are:

  1. Infographics – These are graphic visual representations of information, data, or knowledge.  B2B companies can post infographics with visually represented data their target audiences will find valuable.  Make sure these graphics include useful information businesses can use right away.  In addition, ensure the graphics are well-designed and tall since it’s been found that images that are tall are more likely to be pinned and repinned.
  2. Ebooks & White Papers – B2B companies commonly use ebooks and white papers to position themselves as thought leaders in their industry and to find sales leads.  For Pinterest, create visually appealing covers for your ebooks and white papers.  As well, if you have ebooks and white papers available on a landing page add a Pin It button so your audience can share it with their colleagues gaining your company further visibility.
  3. Company Culture – Does your company do a lot of volunteer work in the community?  Does your company like to go on fun outings?  Pictures from these type of events show the human side of your company.  In other words, it helps humanizes your business.  At the end of the day, your customers want to do business with people not companies.
  4. Promote Your Products – Since Pinterest promotes the sharing of images, a B2B company with products (tangible or non-tangible) can use this platform to gain your products greater visibility.  In addition, include a link to a landing page with these images to generate leads for your B2B company.
Even though Pinterest is a relatively new platform, it holds many benefits for B2B companies to promote their brand and generate sales leads.  Through images, you can convince your audience to do business with your company.
